How to convert JPG to PNG

Converting JPEG to PNG does not restore detail lost to earlier compression. PNG files are often larger than the original JPG. JPEG has no transparency to recover.

Do you upload my images?
No. All conversion, compression, and resizing happens in your browser using Canvas and ImageBitmap. Image bytes never leave your device.
Will converting a JPEG to PNG restore image quality?
No. JPEG to PNG decodes the JPEG pixels and stores them without adding new detail. The PNG may be larger, and existing JPEG artifacts remain. Keep the original JPEG if you need the smallest file.
Is EXIF / GPS metadata removed?
Yes by default. Re-encoding through the canvas pipeline strips EXIF, GPS, and other metadata. You get a clean output file.
