FAQ

How does target-size compression work?

We binary-search JPG/WebP quality at the original dimensions. If the file is still too large, we progressively downscale and search again. PNG has no quality slider, so its target is met by downscaling when needed. The hard rule is output bytes ≤ target.

Do you upload my images?

No. All conversion, compression, and resizing happens in your browser using Canvas and ImageBitmap. Image bytes never leave your device.

What does PASS / FAIL mean?

PASS means the re-checked output file size is at or under the target (e.g. 199 KB ≤ 200 KB). FAIL means we could not meet the limit — we still show the best attempt and never mark it as success.
